Ira singhal cleared the examination in 2010, but the authorities turned down to post her alluding to her disabilities, inability to push, pull and lift’.
Ira singhal, according to UPSC on physical and medical grounds is not eligible to be an Indian Revenue Services Officer, a clerk or a sweeper. Apparently, UPSC prevented her from joining saying IRS officers could be disabled in one arm and one leg, but not in both arms or both legs.
But, they could not cripple her strong determination and dream for long.
The only thing that Ira singhal was eligible was, to never give up to top the country’s most prestigious examination and here she is. Ira Singhal took the exam again and made history by topping it, the first disabled candidate to do so.
