Omar Mateen, 29, suspected to be an ISIS agent attacked and killed at least 50 people and wounded 53 at the Pulse club, a gay night club in Orlando, Florida.

Seven of the victims have so far been named

  1. Edward Sotomayor Jr,
  2. Stanley Almodovar III,
  3. Luis Omar Ocasio-Capo,
  4. Juan Ramon Guerrero,
  5. Eric Ivan Ortiz-Rivera,
  6. Peter O Gonzalez-Cruz and
  7. Luis S Vielma.

The Mateen’s shooting incident came as Orlando was still reeling from the deadly shooting on Friday night of 22-year-old singer Christina Grimmie following an event in the city.

The Islamic State group has claimed it was behind the attack, but the extent of its involvement is not clear. Local journalists said that Mateen had called the emergency services prior attacking and swore allegiance to IS.

The heavily armed mateen was killed in an exchange of fire with 11 police officers, after taking hostages at the club.

US President Barack Obama has stated Mateen’s  gun attack on a gay nightclub as “an act of terror and an act of hate”.

John Mina, Orlando Police Chief said that the gun attack began at 02:00 (06:00 GMT). He took a decision at 05:00 to deploy a police assault team into the club after his department received text messages and SOS calls from some of the hostages.

The assault is considered to be the worst mass shooting in recent US history.

ACQUIRING GUN 
“Murdering of dozens of innocent people” is a point that it is how easy to acquire a fatal weapon in the US and shoot people.

As per Mass Shooting Tracker, the US last year suffered 372 mass shootings, defined as a single incident that kills or injures four or more people. Some 475 people were killed and 1,870 wounded.
