Anup Ojha, Who Returned From Rajasthan, Eats 40 Rotis Everyday At A Quarantine Centre.
After the complaint of cook, Bihar administrative officials visited a quarantine centre in Buxar district to witness a youth eating 40 rotis and 10 rice plates a day.
Officers are being informed by the quarantine ward cook, that Anup Ojha, consumes food equivalent to 10 people. Anup, who was a migrant returned from Rajasthan, was currently quarantined at the Manjhwari Quarantine Centre in Buxar. He is reportedly consuming 40 rotis (chapatis) in the breakfast and around eight to 10 plates of rice during lunch every day.
Officials have counseled the cook that Ojha shouldn’t be deprived of food. Let him eat how much he wants,” officials instructed.
However, the officials were shocked to find how a man can eat such a quantum of food which would fed 10 people otherwise.
One day, a Bihar delicacy ‘litti’ (a dough ball made of wheat flour, stuffed with roasted chickpea) was prepared for breakfast. Ojha ate 85 littis that day, the cook recollected.
In fact, it was Ojha’s diet which brought this quarantine centre into limelight. During stock reports, it was found that the food grains and other eatables were running out of stock fast despite the limited number of migrants. We were initially doubtful of some discrepancy and the matter came to us in headquarters, BLOCK DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, AK SINGH, said.
Ojha likes to eat a lot and drinks tea four times a day
Ojha’s quarantine days for corona is about to end, and the BDO has instructed the quarantine manager in charge, and the cook to neither deprive him of any food nor slash him in his diet.
