Kalakeya alias prabhakar who played the role of KALAKEYA in SS Rajamouli’s super hit film “Baahubali – The Beginning, “as a token of gratitude”, named his son after SS Rajamouli’s name. He named his son as SriRam Rajamouli.
Interacting with the media kalakeya revealed that he was a real shy guy, from Kodangal village in Mahabubnagar district. He did not have any ambition in acting or movies.
In fact he was passionate about playing cricket since childhood. One day, when he came to Hyderabad, he heard that SS Rajamouli was taking audition for Magadheera. A near friend took him along to the audition. Rajamouli saw him but did not say anything on that day. One fine day, Rajamouli’s assistant called and accompanied him to Rajamouli’s house. Then he was offered a role in Maryada Ramanna.
On being offered a role, Kalakeya expressed his inability to act, as lack of knowledge in acting skills. Then Rajamouli sent him to Devdas Kanakala to learn acting.
Recollecting the incident, Kalakeya says, “Rajamouli garu did not offer me a role, in fact he offered me an opportunity to live a new life” and today, I am here, everything because of him. And second time too, it was him again who hit me the opportunity to prove myself as an actor with the role of Kalakeya in Baahubali: The Beginning. “As I feel, that he is the one who changed my life for good”, that is why I named my son after him as Sriram Rajamouli, he said.
