The Lok Sabha elections are right around the corner so the Maharashtra police has increased security in the borders of the state.
This is in response to those candidates who try to buy the votes of the people either by illegal transportation of liquor or by cash. At times, non lethal weapons are transported too.
In order to prevent such nuisance, they have strengthened their security not only in Maharashtra but also in the bordering states of Telangana, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Gujarat, as well as the Union Territories of Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be held in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29 while results will be declared on May 23.
